Core Claim Skills
PLRB/LIRB will offer a special educational program, "Core Claim Skills" at our Claims Conference in Orlando. Eight ninety-minute classes will be offered in two different tracks, property claims and casualty claims, that will challenge adjusters with 2 - 7 or so years of experience in these lines of business.
Sessions will address significant adjusting challenges, including coverage analysis, investigations, damage evaluation, and claim resolution that are fundamental or "core" to adjusters' success. Classes will be held on Tuesday, April 5 to encourage as many first-time attendees to join us in Nashville. Those who complete four classes that day will earn a Certificate of Completion from PLRB/LIRB.
Attendees to the Claims Conference and the Core Claim Skills program will enjoy a complimentary breakfast, lunch, and reception all for the price of enrollment. California Earthquake Claims Handling Accreditation
PLRB is again offering a California earthquake claims handling accreditation track. Attendees who attend all three earthquake sessions (0445, 0455, and 0465) at the Claims Conference will be awarded a free California Earthquake Claims Handling Accreditation certificate by highly respected Vale Training Solutions. This accreditation is good for three years and should be accepted by any insurance company for whom you might handle earthquake claims. There are stiff consequences for insurance companies who use un-accredited earthquake adjusters on California earthquake claims.
In these three classes, you will learn how to:
- identify earthquake-related damage and differentiate it from pre-existing conditions;
- public domain guidelines that help you decide when to patch and paint or remove and replace;
- when to get a technical expert like an engineer involved and what a complete engineer's report should include;
- apply earthquake coverage and deductibles.
This accreditation is a must-have for any adjuster who plans to someday handle earthquake claims in California.
